Hot This Week: March 30

The latest action-packed Jumanji installment bursts onto our list this week with a #1 debut. In music, the new album from former One Direction member Niall Horan is the only newcomer to the chart. Fiction sees a new novel from Harlan Coben, as well as the novelization of the blockbuster conclusion to the Star Wars Skywalker saga, while most titles hold strong in nonfiction.

hoopla Introduces FREE Bonus Borrows

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic weighs heavily on our communities, schools, and libraries. hoopla Digital is thinking of our library partners and our patrons as we navigate this together.

With so many libraries and schools closed, and millions of Americans staying at home, access to digital content and education has taken on an even greater importance. Midwest Tape, hoopla Digital, and Dreamscape are committed to helping this content remain accessible.

The hoopla Digital team has created a special Bonus Borrows collection of over 1,100 of our top titles, including new releases and hoopla favorites. This will help our partner Libraries continue to provide high-quality content and resources to their community, at no cost to their systems.

As part of the Midwest Tape commitment to our Library partners and their communities, hoopla Digital and Dreamscape, the Library-First Publisher, are funding the costs associated with the hoopla Bonus Borrows program.

This curated collection highlights several of hoopla’s top-circulating titles and includes enriching content designed to help families take care of themselves at this time, and maybe learn a new skill, with guides on stress management, DIY activities, cookbooks, home fitness, and homeschool education. You can view the curated collection here.

Dreamscape titles in this collection include titles from New York Times bestselling authors like Lisa Jewell and Martha Grimes and award-winning books and video like The Kiss Quotient (Goodreads’ Romance Book of the Year) and Drum Dream Girl (ALA Carnegie Medal winner).

Bonus Borrows titles are available for unlimited borrows and will have no impact on patrons' regular monthly borrowing limit. In addition to these titles, they will also continue to have regular access to hoopla’s collection of over 750,000 eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, music albums, comics, and more.
