Hot This Week: December 21

Three new movies on this week's list are led by the horror flick The Rental. A new album from Shawn Mendes takes over the music chart, which sees a number of seasonal favorites make an appearance as well. The fiction list stays largely the same, while nonfiction sees two new titles, including an examination of the days leading up to the murder of John Lennon in 1980.

In fiction, the sequel to Ernest Cline's 2011 debut smash takes #1, with a new novel from Nora Roberts joining as well. President Obama's memoir holds strong in nonfiction, which sees two new titles join the list.
